Catherine Brikké received her early dance training from the Royal Academy of Dancing’s international syllabus in Tehran, Iran and the Marika Besobrasova syllabus at Graduate School of Dance in Perth, Australia. She was then invited by Rosella Hightower to join her pre-professional ballet program at the Centre International de Danse in Cannes, France. In her late teens, Ms Brikke studied in Paris with members of the Paris Opera Ballet. She performed a wide variety of roles with the schools she attended as well as a freelance dancer-choreographer-actress in Europe, Africa, and the United States.
Ms. Brikké received the National Teaching Degree in Ballet from the French Ministry of Culture in 1993. She has since been on the faculty of the Conservatoire des Arts of Le Mee in France, Neubert Ballet Institute at Carnegie Hall in New York as well as a guest teacher for many summer programs including the Paul Taylor Summer Dance Intensive and New Jersey Ballet. Ms. Brikke has been on the faculty of LaGuardia High School’s Dance Department since 1998. She is also a photographer specializing in dance, portraits and travel and a Pilates Instructor.
